A.L.S. Diagnosis

As you know Outz has been diagnosed with A.L.S. He began having symptoms back in January. He had stiffness in his legs and arms and began loosing strength in his arms. Initially we thought it was work related due to the fact that his job is physical. He is over fifty after all. We saw his general doctor in mid August and he referred us to Dr. Robert Neel a neurologist who specializes in A.L.S. At that point I figured it was serious, Outz still felt it could be arthritis or a slipped disk. Prior to meeting Dr.Neel, Outz had an E.M.G. This is a test of the nerves. They put needles in his arms, legs and back. We knew his arms had twitching, that was visible. This test showed the twitching in his legs and back as well. Not good news. That was on a Friday and we had an appointment with Dr.Neel on the following Monday Aug.26th,2013. Which is now referred to as "D-Day." As in the day of the A.L.S diagnosis. On that day we knew our lives would not be the same. We decided to start this blog to show you that all though not the same, we are going to continue to have fun and live life to the fullest. When people asked Outz what is on his bucket list he said: "I want to  spend time with family and friends". So... make plans to spend time with Outz. He plans to fight this. He is continuing to work at Roundbottom Recycling. They have made accommodations and have been flexible with his schedule.. Keep the prayers coming! We have been overwhelmed with your love and support and will continue to need it.
